Farsley continue their break from league action with a trip to local rivals Ossett Albion in the Integro League Cup tonight, writes Thomas Ritchie.

In this competition last year Farsley exited in the third round, defeated on penalties by eventual runners up Scarborough Athletic following a 1-1 draw.

Farsley will look to ensure they have progressed past the first round in every competition this season with a win tomorrow night, after doing so in the FA Cup, FA Trophy and West Riding County Cup, and build on their impressive 3-2 victory over higher ranked Barwell in the FA Trophy on Saturday.

Due to being involved in the FA Trophy Farsley dropped to third in the league over the weekend, however are just two points off the top and have numerous games in hand. Farsley are now unbeaten in six games in all competitions and haven’t lost in almost a month, their last defeat coming to Brighouse Town (2-1) on 17th October.

On the injury front Farsley will be without the services of defender Ryan Serrant, but will otherwise have a full squad to choose from following Richard Marshall’s return from suspension.

This competition may also be a chance for the management team to take a look at some players who haven’t had as much game time in recent weeks, and could make a few changes, whilst still fielding a strong eleven.

Ossett Albion fell at the second round stage of this competition last season, also falling to Scarborough Athletic in a 2-0 defeat. Albion have had a difficult start to the season sitting in 20th place, just outside the relegation thanks to their superior goal difference over Goole.

Ossett have won just one of their last nine games in all competitions, that win being a 2-0 success over Radcliffe Borough in the league, losing their last game 5-2 at home to Tadcaster Albion. They have no apparent injury concerns.

So why not travel the short distance and support your local side? The postcode is WF5 8RN and admission prices are £7 adults, £4 concessions and £1 U16s.
