A vacant shop unit could be converted into a tech-led laundrette if plans can be agreed with the council.
A self-service washing facility is proposed for a former convenience store in Bramley Shopping Centre.
Speed Queen, which runs laundrettes where machines are controlled remotely with a mobile phone app, is seeking planning permission from the council.
A planning report said people could use the Speed Queen app to find available machines and see when washing cycles were finished.
It said: āSpeed Queen launderettes operate as modern, technology-enabled self-service facilities.
āCustomers can access the service using a range of contactless payment options, including bank card, phone wallet and the Speed Queen mobile app.ā
The shop unit had been vacant since September last year and was formerly occupied by retailer Ecotopia.
The report said Speed Queen was the worldās leading self-service laundrette brand, with more than 1,000 branches around Europe.
The Bramley laundrette would be unstaffed but cleaning contractors and engineers would be needed to service the site.
The report said: āThe proposed change of use would ensure that the site, which is currently vacant, would be brought back into active use.ā
The proposed laundrette would be open from 7am-10pm daily.
Leeds City Council is considering a change of use planning application which is out for consultation until May 11.
