Valley View Community Primary School in Rodley is hosting a magical Santa’s grotto, open to all local families and designed to be accessible to everyone.
This event is the result of volunteering efforts from teachers, parents and pupils alike, all eager to bring some festive magic to the village.
School governor Suzanne Clancy said: “The Santa’s grotto promises not only to delight children but also to provide exceptional value for money, ensuring no family is left out of the seasonal celebrations.
“What makes this initiative truly remarkable is the support it has received from local businesses, whose generous contributions have helped make the event possible. Their involvement has enabled the school to create a memorable experience while keeping costs low for families.”
“This year, the school’s forest cabin has been lovingly transformed into a magical grotto, complete with twinkling lights and festive decorations. As part of the experience, children and their families can gather around the fire pit outside, sipping hot chocolate and sharing stories, before stepping inside to meet Santa himself.
“We believe this grotto is a shining example of how our community comes together to support local families, especially during the festive period. It would be wonderful to see this story featured on your station, so the wider area can appreciate the power of local volunteering, collaboration, and support.”
The event runs Saturday, 6 and Sunday, 7 December, from 12-6pm.
