Friends of Pudsey Roller are holding their second public talk of the year.

The group of volunteers, which is aiming to raise money to restore the steam roller which sat in Pudsey Park for many years, are holding their illustrated ‘Transport and Steam’ talk on November 3.

It focusses on Kirkstall Forge and its links with the past and will be conducted by Joe Northrop. It will feature a pie and pea supper.

The talk will be held at Farsley Liberal Club in Old Road, Farsley, at 7.45pm.

This is a ticket only event and tickets at £6 each, including supper, are available from Jackie Gowing, 15 Balmoral Way, Yeadon, Leeds LS19 7WF (please include an SAE), phone 0113 2570371 or e-mail

The Friends is an organisation dedicated to raising money to assist in the restoration of the Fowler steam roller that stood in Pudsey Park from 1959 to 1990.
