An office building could be converted into eight flats if plans are agreed with the city council.
Developer Kepler Holdings Ltd is seeking to redevelop part of Caross House, on Bagley Lane in Farsley.
One-bedroom flats would be created at the site if planning permission is given by Leeds City Council.
A design report said the development would help meet growing demand for homes in the west Leeds community.
It said: “The development will contribute towards local housing provision while improving the appearance and long-term viability of the building through continued investment and redevelopment.”
An existing single-storey side building and garage would be demolished and a first floor extension built to make way for the flats.
The report by MAS Design Consultants said plans for six apartments at the site were approved earlier this year.
It said: “The full planning application seeks to build upon this previous approval and increase the usable space on the property from six flats to eight flats.
“This will enable the development to maximise liveable space and provide further housing for the local Farsley area.”
The project would be in keeping with the appearance of a nearby Grade II-listed building, the former Bagley Baptist Chapel, the report said.
It said: “It is considered that the proposal will improve the visual appearance of the site and provide a more sympathetic relationship with the surrounding character of the area when compared to the existing building.”
The council is considering a full planning application which is out for consultation until July 8. The plans can be viewed in full here.
