Farsley Festival 2025 brings community together

By Susan Johnson

Farsley Festival, a free family fun day out, was held on Saturday in Hainsworth Park

In between the showers the organisers had worked hard to provide a very diverse programme of entertainment which included music, singing, dancing, stalls and refreshments in a very friendly atmosphere.

On the main stage the following entertainment took place, Hot Squash, Farsley Village Singers, Country Mania, The Vaudevillian, and LS18 Rocks.

A favourite with children, such a great idea, was an enclosure of cardboard boxes. These could be jumped on, squashed and demolished to flat pack.

Near the refreshment tent Leeds Community Tutti! Concert Band played a selection of lively music.

Rise Dance Studio gave a lovely dancing display with their Rising Stars. Not to be beaten, Wharfedale Wayzgoose Morris Dancers enthralled onlookers with their amazing costumes and exuberant dancing.

All the hard work given freely by local charities, businesses and volunteers helped to create a lovely local day; hopefully to be repeated in 2026.
