A Farsley chippy is celebrating National Fish & Chip Day by supporting a campaign for a new play area in Hainsworth Park.
For every portion of fish and chips sold tomorrow (Friday, 4 June) Croft Street Fisheries will donate £1 to the Friends of Hainsworth Park group’s fundraiser.
The Friends have so far raised more than £30,000 via grants and community donations towards marking the park’s centenary with plans to build a natural landscaped play area for physical and adventurous play next to the existing playpark.

Croft Street Fisheries, which in April was crowned one of the best chip shops in the UK, posted on Facebook:
“To celebrate we will be giving £1 of every portion of fish and chips we sell tomorrow to Friends of Hainsworth Park.
“They have been doing a fantastic job of raising money to create a lovely outdoor area for our Farsley community. So come down, enjoy Farsley’s favourite fish and chips and know that your helping us to give a little something back to our local community.”
