Farsley Celtic 0 Lancaster City 0

In a dour game at Throstle Nest Lancaster City held Farsley Celtic to their second consecutive 0-0 draw, however this meant The Celts did continue their 14 game unbeaten run, writes Thomas Ritchie.

The first chance of the match fell to the visitors as Ryan Winder found himself through on goal only to see his effort well saved by Farsley ‘keeper Tom Taylor.

Just moments later Farsley created an opportunity for themselves as Paul Walker twisted and turned inside the box before he drilled his effort just wide of the far post.

Winder then had a glorious opportunity for Lancaster as he raced through on goal again, however this time his shot struck the outside of the post. Shortly after Lancaster had the best chance of the half as Ryan Winder played in Tom Kilifin who’s shot smashed against the post before his follow up effort was excellently saved by Taylor from point blank range.

Midway through the second half Lancaster had a free-kick in a dangerous position, however Richard Mercer’s effort was terrifically tipped over the bar by Taylor. With time running out Farsley started to create the better of the opportunities as Kyle Harrison played in Ross Daly who fired inches over the bar from the edge of the box.

Farsley then had a final chance to snatch all three points in injury time as substitute Leon Osborne’s cross-cum-shot brushed inches past the outstretched boot of Lewis Nightingale who had the goal gaping in front of him.
