Farsley Churches Together this year organised a Passion Play, which was an immersive retelling of the Easter story held at various locations in the village.
The anticipated bad weather did not materialise and people followed each stage through the village
It started in Farsley’s Hainsworth Park for setting the scene and “Triumphal Entry” and the scene with “The Disciples”.

From it here it moved down to the steps of St John’s Church Hall where the “Cleansing of the Temple” was enacted out.
The procession then moved to the steps of St. John’s Church on Town Street and here people who were following heard about “Gethsemane”.
Everyone then moved to Farsley Community Church and in gardens there was “The Trial of Jesus”.

Finally as everyone moved to Sunny Bank Mills “The Crucifixion” was acted out from the hill.
The script was written and produced by Lesley Gibbons with the cast drawn from across the community.
After the procession people were invited to gather at the St John’s Church Hall for refreshments, a well-deserved hot drink and a time of fellowship.
