Pizza chain Dominos is hoping to open a takeaway at the site of a former West Leeds pub.

The former Gamecock site, on the junction of Butt Lane and Pudsey Road, was transformed into four shops a few years ago, with Greggs, Subway and Heron Foods setting up business there.

A planning application has now been submitted to open a Dominos Pizza outlet in the unoccupied fourth unit. Plans to change the use of the unit from a restaurant to takeaway and for illuminated signs have been submitted.

One local resident, who asked not to be named, said:

“The unit was starting to be vandalised, a couple of its windows had been smashed, so I’m pleased something’s going to be done with it.”
