Plans to transform a former Pudsey pub into four business units have been approved by Leeds City Council planners.
Applicant Verma Developments has successfully applied to change the former Oddfellows Hall Public House, off Richardshaw Lane, to two financial/professional services units and two shops.
Plans also include extensions and alterations to the existing first floor flat, which would have three bedrooms. The building dates back to 1916.
A council planning officer’s report said the application met national and local planning policies and was approved, subject to conditions. These include the work starting within three years.
There were no objections to the plans, which can be viewed in full here.
WLD reported last July that proposals to demolish the pub were refused by council planners, despite claims from the applicant that it was it was a ‘dangerous’ structure which had fallen into disrepair. The application had sparked local concern, prompting Pudsey’s councillors to object.
The pub has been empty for several years.
