The clock at Pudsey Parish Church has been fixed.
The clock tower of Pudsey Parish Church is an important landmark in the town. Unfortunately the clock has not been working for many years.
Trevor Newbold, one of the church wardens, explained: “It was important to get the clock back in service for the community. The money to repair the clock was raised from church funds, congregational giving and a significant individual donation.”

The clock was fixed by Stuart Morrison, master craftsman and clock engineer from Cumbria Clock Company.
He told Trevor that the clock was local, that it was built by Potts of Pudsey in 1864.
It has been completely refurbished so the chimes are real, they are not a recording. The times of the chimes can be set automatically. Currently they can be heard between 7.30am and midnight on the hour, half hour and the quarter hour.

WLD reported in 2024 that the church had launched a £150,000 appeal after the clock had stopped following a mechanical fault. One of the clock faces had to be taken down due to concerns about the safety of the masonry supporting it.
