The Rotary Club of Calverley delivered more than 156 meals to people living on their own and who would otherwise gone without a Christmas Day lunch.
Many of the beneficiaries would not have seen another person all day.
A team of around 45 volunteer drivers arrived at the Golf Club from 12pm to distribute the 156 meals to people living on their own in Pudsey, Bramley, Stanningley, Tyersal, Calverley, Farsley, Rodley and parts of Armley.

These are some messages received by the club afterwards:
Susan wrote: “Thank you so much for the lovely Christmas dinner, pudding and present. It is very much appreciated.”
Keith said: “Two lovely people delivered my Christmas lunch. It was very nice, plenty enough for one person, with a Terry’s chocolate orange and a Christmas card too. What a tremendous job they do. Thank you and the Rotary Club very much.“
And Pat added: “Thank you so much for my excellent Xmas lunch. I truly appreciated you leaving it with my neighbour due to me having to go to St James Hospital. You are all amazing and I can’t thank you enough. Wishing you all a happy New Year.”
Thanks go to the sterling work of Calverley Golf Club, led by Clarissa Coates and Joe Postle who prepared the Christmas lunches. Also to Blackshaw Holdings, who own Calverley Golf, and provided a little gift to go to each person who received a meal, and also to Bidfood.
Thanks also go to local councillors, Pudsey Borough Charity, Leeds Outer West Communities Wellbeing/Youth Activity Fund and people making donations to make this happen.
The deliveries could not have been achieved without the tremendous work of Kate Naylor in coordinating the lists of where to deliver.
