Bramley: Woman treated for smoke inhalation

An elderly woman received a check up after dense smoke from burnt toast filled her kitchen in the early hours of this morning.

Fire appliances from Stanningley and Leeds attended after the smoke alarm was triggered in the pensioner’s home in Landseer Walk, Bramley at 1.22am.

An ambulance crew gave the woman a precautionary check up at the scene.

A West Yorkshire Fire Service spokesperson added:

“Fire Service issue smoke detectors were fitted and working at the time of the incident.”
