An empty office building is set to be converted into 25 flats after plans were agreed with the city council.
Planning permission has been given to turn Bradshaw House, on Waterloo Lane in Bramley, into apartments.
Leeds City Council granted full planning permission for the scheme, which would see a two-storey office block turned into homes.
A council report said nearby householders would be consulted on plans for the site.
Planning officers recommended the proposed scheme, reduced from 27 to 25 flats, was given approval.
A planning officer’s report said the site was close to public transport links, schools and health facilities.
The scheme would add an extra second floor to the existing building.
The report said: “Bramley Shopping Centre is located immediately opposite the site, along with several primary schools and medical centres within walking distance. The re-use of Bradshaw House for residential purposes would deliver 25 new homes.”
The building will be managed by Bridge-It Housing, a Registered Social landlord who provide accommodation and support to families and single persons in housing need.
The site is next to Bramley Community Centre and Bramley Housing Office.
A full planning application was given formal approval by the council on April 1. Permission is subject to conditions, including £33,684 sum from the applicant to be spent enhancing and maintaining public open space in the area.
