Bramley Baths reopens for swimming after window smashed

Bramley Baths has re-opened for swimming – three weeks after a window over the pool was smashed.

The community-owned pool closed for safety reasons after two large stones fell onto one of the windows on the roof.

Alan Carnall Windows, based in Stanningley, came to the rescue to carry out the repairs. The company was recommended following an appeal via social media.

A post on Bramley Baths’ website said:

“We put out messages on social media, through everyone’s networks, and those messages were posted and shared hundreds of times. The response has been incredible. Those two stones that landed on our roof have certainly created a few ripples and in response, many brilliant local tradespeople have been in touch. Thank you to all of those people who recommended others, or offered us their services.”

Now the pool is open for a whole host of summer holiday events and activities under the banner ‘Bramley Beach’. The ‘beach’ features pool parties, games, relaxation and fun. More details here.
