Armley: Pop-up cafes support winter warmth

Elderly help group Armley Helping Hands has announced the dates of three pop-up cafes at Thornton Medical, Armley Moor and Priory View GP practices. 

Armley Helping Hands CEO Dawn Newsome said the cafes will be offering winter warmth advice and leaflets, literature and Care and Repair will be present. She said:

“We are going to set up pop-up cafés with tea and cakes in each of the patients’ waiting areas to enable us to engage with local people. Our key focus will be older people (age 55 upwards) but each of the pop up cafés will be have an open door policy in supporting individuals and families with in the community.

“The team will also be offering meal vouchers to individuals to attend our supper clubs in February and March down at New Wortley Community Centre.”

The events run from 9.30am-noon at Armley Moor Health Centre on Wednesday, January 17 , Priory View on Wednesday, January 24 and Thornton Medical Centre on Tuesday, January 16. All welcome to attend.
