Armley: How your votes can help save Saturday Night Project from closure

The Breeze Saturday Night Project that runs at Armley Leisure Centre is currently facing closure at Christmas, due to funding struggles. LAURA HOBMAN has details of how the Aviva Community Fund could come to the rescue for the popular Saturday evening activity for more than 100 young people in a week …

The Breeze Team and their partners (Positive Futures, Sports and Recreation and Youth Service) are hoping to source funding to continue the project from January 2018 and have made it through the first round of Aviva funding. Now we need to get votes to get through to the next round.

To help us continue from January 2018 – March 2019, please vote for us now here.

We have a database of more than 1,000 young people who have attended the project in the last two years and attract over 100 young people to the project on a weekly basis.

We are trying to keep the cost to young people at a minimum of £1 to access these fantastic facilities where we have exclusive access to swimming, gym, arts and crafts, football and multi-sports and a safe space for young people to meet new friends and socialise.

We think it’s a valuable resource for the community. If you do to, please show your support and get voting and share with all your contacts!!!

If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to contact Laura.Hobman@leeds.gov.uk

The project runs every Saturday in term time, as follows:

Juniors 8-12 years (in Year 7): 6-7.30pm
Seniors 12 (in Year 8) – 18 years: 7.30-9pm
