Pride in Place Armley and New Wortley is continuing with pace, and the main consultation phase is coming to an end in a fortnight. We’ve had lots of events to engage with residents over the past three months, and the feedback has been really encouraging.
Earlier in August Emily Howard (Senior Locality Officer) and Rose Farrar (Locality Officer) have been appointed to join the Pride in Place team. Emily and Rose have extensive experience in community engagement and I’m sure you’ll meet them at events connected to Pride in Place.
We now have three alliances who are working alongside the board to make sure that we are focused on what is right for the community. These are a resident’s alliance, a young people’s alliance and a business alliance.
In October we have planned three days to work alongside residents to hold clean ups in areas that could use some TLC. More information will be available next week about how you can be involved.
The main focus once the consultation period is finished in a fortnight will be to develop the 10-year vision and four-year business plan for the project. There is a lot of work to do on this and we’ll continue conversations with the community as we fine tune identifying what will make the biggest difference in Armley and New Wortley. In order to avoid using expensive consultants, a working group has been formed from the board who will be working on this over the next three months.
