Schools from across West Leeds are joining the Love Exploring Leeds School Challenge, as part of a drive to encourage families to get active in their local park.
The challenge is based around the free Love Exploring app, which offers augmented reality games for smartphones.
Both Bramley Fall Park and Bramley Park host a Mega Mini-Beast hunt, featuring giant-sized bugs which creep, crawl and fly in virtual reality. There’s also a Dinosaur Safari to try too.
The Love Exploring Leeds team will be joining the junior parkrun crew at Bramley Park on Sunday 15 May, from 9am-11am, to offer families help and encouragement with joining the city’s biggest ever bug hunt.
Whitecote Primary and Bramley St Peter’s CofE Primary are both leading the way in the West Leeds league table, with 27 schools from across the city taking part so far.
Participants can link their Love Exploring account to a local school to win points for every 100m they walk and every question they answer on the interactive quiz. All participating schools will win a prize, and the family with the most points will win an iPad.
The challenge runs until June 6.
