A community selfie, consisting of a poem recital from around two dozen organisations in Bramley and surrounding areas, has been unveiled.
Noëlle Williamson, one of the organisers of the Bramley Community Arts Festival, has been hard at work constructing the community selfie, which involves a video of locals each reading a line from the poem ‘A Fanfare for the Makers’ by Louis Macneice.
The poem is a celebration of creativity and rebuilding, and it features community members such as firefighters, bell ringers, refuse collectors, postal workers, birdwatchers, and many more.
It also includes a line from a large congregation of Bramley residents, met in Bramley Park last Tuesday, 12 May, for filming.
Each contributor had prompt boards to help them with their lines, and it was all read in unison.
The final piece was revealed to the public at Bramley Trinity Methodist Church during the Community Arts Festival on Saturday, 16 May.
