Video: When the museum at Armley Mills was opened by Blue Peter presenters

Almost 40 years ago Blue Peter presenters Sarah Green, Simon Groom and Peter Duncan were invited by Lord Mayor of Leeds, Doreen Jenner, to open Armley Mills Museum in the city.

This footage was first broadcast on the famous children’s BBC TV programme on 3 June 1982.

Flash forward to 2021 and the Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills is a popular museum of industrial heritage located in Armley. The museum includes collections of textile machinery, railway equipment and heavy engineering amongst others.
