Traffic update: Kirkstall Hill closed following gas leak, diversions in place

Northern Gas Networks are currently replacing the old cast iron gas main on Kirkstall Hill between the junctions of St Ann’s Rise and Eden Drive.

On Thursday evening they unearthed a severely damaged piece of main, outside the electrical substation, leaking gas from a number of sections.

To repair it Kirkstall Hill has been closed at the junction with Eden Grove

Works will continue throughout the weekend. The road is expected to reopen on Sunday night/early Monday morning.
