Plans for a new digital advertising display board in Stanningley have been refused by Leeds City Council planners for being too dominant.
Applicant Clear Channel wanted to put up a 6m wide by 3m high digital advertisement billboard on the gable end of a stone property at the junction of Town Street and Butler Way.
A planning officer’s report refusing the application said the billboard would be ‘particularly dominant and conspicuous.
The report concluded: “On balance, it is considered that the proposal will result in an incongruous addition, which would have an adverse impact on the character and appearance of the streetscene and would be detrimental to the residential amenity of nearby dwellings.”
