The mini ‘running revolution’ in Bramley is breaking into a sprint!
The Run Leeds project is teaming up with resident runners in Bramley to launch a new mid-week social running group called the ‘Bramley Breezers’.
Local runners have been instrumental in laying the foundations of the group, which organisers say is a first for west Leeds.
The Bramley Breezers meets every Monday at Bramley War Memorial (7pm) – runners of all standards and fitness are welcome to attend.
The group is perfect practice for the incredibly popular 5k Bramley Parkrun, which started up earlier this year and regular draws upwards of 100 runners to park footpaths each Saturday morning.
The inaugural session last week included a ‘freedom parkrun’ of Bramley Park as recognition of Bramley Parkrun, which launched in June.
A Bramley Breezers spokesperson said:
“A side effect of this mini running revolution, spurred on by the weekly event, is the connections made between like-minded folk. This has acted as a springboard for starting up this new group.”
Run Leeds is a citywide project supporting the needs of all joggers and runners alike.
