Light up Rodley is a recently formed local group working for the community, organising events throughout the year, not just Rodley’s new Christmas Lights. Here, member Melanie Enaje writes about a plan for two new community gardens in the area and how you can get involved.
I have been working with Richard Gill at Leeds in Bloom. He has researched the two areas to be sure they are council land we are able to use.
The first patch of land we will start on is the strip of gardens on town street beside The Gables furniture store. This will start on 4th March as part of the Great British Spring Clean Campaign.
We have been given the go ahead for, the 2 green areas in Rodley. Useable community gardens for everyone to enjoy #green spaces

The next area is the land beside Harris Interiors, also on Town Street. This will be a bigger project.
We hope lots of locals want to get involved from the start with design and planting.
