Another successful festive lights switch on took place in Rodley on Saturday. And the rain did not stop local people from turning out to celebrate the start of our festivities! writes Jane Ingham.
We had great Christmas music from DJ Chris. Debbie and staff at The Rodley Barge supported the event with hot food. Debbie also donated mulled wine for the group to sell along with mince pies.
Local children Dominic and Logan won golden tickets to help switch the lights on. The lovely man from Leeds Lighting ensured that everything worked.
Sweet Dreams provided a yummy sweet stall and local councillor Peter Carlill came along before rushing up to be a steward at the Calverley Switch On.
It was a lovely friendly community event.
Next Saturday we will be holding our 3rd annual Makers’ Fayre.
This will be the perfect chance to buy presents for others (or yourself!) from local small businesses – very talented artisans. There’ll be a tombola and a raffle at The Owl Pub 10 until 2 Saturday 8th Dec 2018. Not to be missed!
Our Makers’ Fayre has been sponsored by Core Gym at Greengates.
