It draws hundreds of people each year and dozens of entries, but this year’s Pudsey Spring Flower Show has been cancelled due to the threat of Coronavirus.
The annual event is run by the Pudsey Allotments and Cottage Gardeners Association and was due to run on Saturday 28 March at the United Reformed Church.
Posting on social media, the Association said in a statement:
“We are sorry to announce that, after careful consideration, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Pudsey Spring Show.
“We apologise to all members, supporters, exhibitors and visitors, but hope you understand that this is for the public good, due to the current covid-19 pandemic and advice from the health authorities.”
The Pudsey Allotments & Cottage Gardeners’ Association was founded to bring people with a love of gardening and allotments together.
The Association’s summer show is due to be held in early September.
