Pudsey: Simon Seary reselected as Conservative candidate

CSimon Seary has been formally reselected by members of the Pudsey, Swinnow and Tyersal Conservatives to stand as the Conservative Party candidate for the Pudsey ward in the May 2026 Leeds City Council elections.

Cllr Seary was first elected in 2018 and has served the ward for almost eight years. He previously contested the delayed 2022 local elections, securing 4,145 votes, 55 percent of the vote, and a majority of 1,320.

Cllr Seary said: “I am delighted to have been officially selected by ward members to be the Conservative Party candidate for the Pudsey ward for 2026’s Local Elections.

“I still can’t believe it’s nearly 11 years since I first stood and almost eight years since I was first elected in 2018. I love Pudsey, I love the people, and I genuinely love getting stuck in every day for Pudsey, Swinnow and Tyersal.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years. It really does mean the world and I hope I can count on you again next year so I can keep cracking on with making Pudsey even better!”

All 33 council wards in Leeds will be contested at next May’s Leeds City Council elections.

      • Judging by the Labour Party Mrs Mahmood saying she’s banning people from Numibia, Congo, and Angola.

Yeah, labour party are deeply racialist and are stoking ethnic violence and race hate.

Labour nationally are awful. They make okay Councillors.
