A public meeting is being held this week with a view to starting a new Friends of Farnley Park group to help improve and maintain the park.
The Friends will carry out practical work in the park, such as weeding, pruning and litter picking, as well as protecting the heritage of the parkland and have a say in how it is managed.
Councillor Ann Forsaith (Green, Farnley & Wortley) is hosting the initial meeting, on Thursday 21 July at 3pm in Farnley Hall boardroom. All are welcome to attend.
Cllr Forsaith can also be contacted on ann.forsaith@leeds.gov.uk.
Last year the Friends of Western Flatts Park group in Wortley was also formed at a public meeting. And earlier this year, a Friends of Stanningley Park group was formed. The Friends of Armley Park also recently celebrated the opening of a new playground after years of campaigning.
