Progress made at Rodley’s Moss Lane as bridge is installed

By Keef Williamson

It’s been a very long wait, but the replacement Moss Lane Bridge in Rodley is finally in position on site.

The original bridge was removed early in 2022, but unspecified delays have meant that the replacement crossing has only just been installed.

This has severely reduced access to both Rodley Nature Reserve and the cricket club, with the developers promising to compensate both organisations.

Following installation of the roadway, parapets and ancillary items, the structure will be commissioned and tested, and a provisional opening date of 14 December 2022 has been proposed.

Fanfares and fireworks are not expected.

Councillors are set to decide a detailed planning application for 66 houses on the adjoining Airedale Mills site later this month.
