Three illegal quad bikes and a motorbike were seized by police as part of an operation in Calverley over the weekend.
On Saturday (16 May 2020) West Yorkshire Police received complaints of 30 off-road motorbikes and quads being ridden illegally near the village.
Leeds District Off Road Bike Team were already in the area conducting an operation alongside Bradford’s Steerside enforcement team. A spokesperson said:
“Three quad bikes were seized in total when the riders were caught off-guard and opted for running on foot instead. In case anyone didn’t realise, bikes are faster than feet!”
Two men were arrested. Enquiries are ongoing to identify the other suspects in the convoy.
The Dispatch reported yesterday that a green pit bike was seized from Calverley Woods following numerous complaints from residents.
