Up to 50 new homes could be built on land near Pudsey if plans can be agreed with planners.
Leeds City Council is considering early-stage plans for the proposed development in Tyersal.
A report by ID Planning said it could see two, three and four-bedroom properties built at the site, in between Tyersal Lane and Sutton Road.
The site was on land already allocated for housing and would help meet the council’s five-year plans for new homes, the report said.
It said: “It is important therefore that the application is supported by the council to allow housing delivery to commence on the site in a timely manner.”
The development would be near a separate project by Gleeson Homes to deliver 270 properties.
The report said: “This scheme is being built out by Gleeson Homes and is almost complete.”
People moving into the Gleeson site had been made aware that the nearby land was also allocated for housing.
Neighbouring householders had also been invited to comment on the Tyersal Lane proposals, said the report.
An application for outline planning permission, which gives consent to build in principle, has been submitted.
A separate reserved matters application would be needed, setting out details of the design of the scheme.
The report said: “The proposed development will likely provide a mix of two, three and four-bedroom properties to suit a range of occupiers, but this is for approval at reserved matters stage.”
The outline application is out for public consultation until March 5.
The report said: “Residents would have further opportunity to comment upon the scale, layout, appearance, internal access and landscaping through the reserved matters process.”
