People and Places: Kirkstall photographic competition launches

By Mindy Goose

Kirkstall Art Trail is bringing back the ‘Capture Kirkstall’ Photography Competition for 2025. Whether you’re a seasoned shutterbug or a camera-phone fanatic, photographers of all skills are invited to celebrate the vibrant spirit of Kirkstall.

Organisers want to see your images from all corners of Kirkstall. The people who make Kirkstall a wonderful place – the workers, the volunteers, your neighbours. The many places, modern, old, or ancient, within LS5.

Perhaps you like watching nature along the River Aire. Or find your inspiration amongst blooming marvellous gardens or allotments. There are so many different aspects to this wonderful neighbourhood, beyond the obvious.

Organisers will select three winners, who will have their images professionally printed and framed.

That’s not all; they will get to see them hanging in Chunk Bakery on Kirkstall Hill during the Art Trail this summer. The three winners will each receive a voucher for Take It Easy Lab and get to take their framed print home at the end of the exhibition.

So, are you ready to show off your eye for beauty, community, and character? Submit your most powerful portraits and striking scenes? From familiar faces to hidden corners, we want your unique take on what makes Kirkstall special.
