New Wortley will be a place of sun and celebration this Bank Holiday weekend, thanks to the annual New Wortley Festival 2018.
The popular annual event is being held at a variety of venues, including New Wortley Community Centre, Bethel Church, Castleton Primary School and Thornton Medical Centre car park.
Events tomorrow (Friday) include a chess challenge with Leeds West MP Rachel Reevesin the morning, an opening community parade at noon, an opportunity fair and a community cabaret in the evening.
Saturday features food from the Sheesh Mahal on Kirkstall Road, smoothie making, family photo booth, zumba, stalls and attractions, including a number of events on stage.
New Wortley Festival is also at Castleton Primary School in Green Lane on Saturday, from 11am-2pm, including donkey rides, multi skills, inflatables, information stalls and more…
Bethel Free Church opens 11am-5pm and features refreshments, entertainment and bric-a-brac, while Thornton Medical Centre features The Works and BMX bikes in its car parks.
Kids will have lots to entertain them as shipping container Playbox rolls into the area, with games and activities.
