An Armley-based organisation is inviting the community to help celebrate its 15 years of supporting refugees and asylum seekers in Leeds.
Meeting Point – the social project of Christ Church Armley Community Projects – is marking its brithday with a special celebration with a barbecue, disco and live music, children’s activities and face painting and the chance to learn a few words in another language.
Project manager Emma Crossley said:
“We are inviting the local community to come and celebrate with us whilst learning more about other groups and activities on offer in the area.”
The event, which will also include a women’s group stall, is being held at Christ Church, in Armley Ridge Road, on Saturday, 7 July 2018, from 12pm-5pm.
Meeting Point works with refugees and asylum seekers towards social integration and also provides support around health, employment, family support or food provision. It also aims to reduce negative stereotypes and break down barriers in the local community.
