Leeds Lord Mayor Dan Cohen has visited a lifeline group supporting visually impaired people in Pudsey.
Councillor Cohen met attendees at the Claremont Grove complex, where Pudsey Charity for the Visually Impaired welcomes members with a diagnosable eye condition and live in LS28 or surrounding areas.
The Wednesday social and friendship club is held every Wednesday at the Claremont Grove Complex, Pudsey from 1pm to 3.30pm.

It is a friendly group for refreshments, games, entertainment and meals out. Travel assistance is offered to anyone who has a diagnosable eye condition.
One 90-year-old attendee told WLD that the group was a real lifeline for her. “It gets me out of the house, you have to keep active otherwise you end up by yourself,” she said. “I started coming here and made new friends – the group beings people together.”
Cllr Cohen chatted with members and took part in a quiz.

He was invited by Pudsey Councillors Simon and Dawn Seary (Cons). Simon Seary told WLD: “This group brings people together and offers a lifeline to people. The volunteers do a great job, and the group is so friendly and welcoming. I was delighted to invite the Lord Mayor to visit.”
The organisation has been supporting the visually impaired since 1963.
