The lists of candidates standing for election to Leeds City Council on May 7 has been announced.
The list of those standing to become councillors can seen by ward here, with voting taking place on Thursday 7 May, with counting and results being declared the following day, Friday 8 May.
Across the city, 33 wards will see a total of 36 councillors elected.
One councillor will be elected in each of the wards in the WLD patch. These include Armley, Bramley & Stanningley, Calverley & Farsley, Farnley & Wortley, Horsforth, Kirkstall, and Pudsey wards.
WLD will approach each candidate for a 300-word statement and photo so readers can understand more about what they are standing for.

There are some very interested predicted results currently being modelled. I’ve been watching this website which changes as new national and local polls come out and uses very careful modeling taking into account things like candidate incumbency and loads of other things not just national swing.

It seems to be predicting a huge hit for Labour in West Leeds, but with that vote going in all sorts of directions, some to the Greens, some to Reform, and Conservatives / MBI’s also holding out in most areas (Farsley being a fight between Reform and Conservatives… Although it is Andrew Carter standing who has been a local councillor for many many years. Anyway, very interesting polling.
