A newly completed £4 million commercial development at Springfield Mills has been officially opened this week.
The Bostock Building features eight high-quality hybrid commercial units across two floors, offering modern workshop and office accommodation.
The new development is the first of its kind on the site for 70 years and was opened on Tuesday by Christine Bostock, the widow of former MD and Chairman John Bostock after whom the building is named.

Over 50 people attended the ribbon cutting ceremony. Visitors got the chance to look around two of the new finished units and find out about the development from all those involved, over afternoon tea.
Chris Pratt, who took over from John Bostock as MD in 2012, and is now a Board Director, has overseen the completion of the new development.
Mr Pratt said: “It’s great to see this exciting new project come to fruition from its conception to completion and we’re really pleased with the result.”
One of John’s three daughters, Ginny Lowndes, said “We are touched and delighted as a family that the company has decided to name the new development after my father.
“I am still a member of the Board so I am personally also very proud that his name will continue through this exciting new venture as his legacy for all the brilliant work he did for the business and for the local community for the people he looked after.”
Gaunts Managing Director Paul Curson said: “Once the internal works are completed next month, they will be available to let and we are already receiving interest from a number of companies, so we would encourage those wanting more information about these high quality units, to contact us as soon as possible.”
John Bostock is credited for the transformation of Gaunts Ltd in Farsley into a thriving business centre.
John was born in Horsforth, spent his youth in Myanmar and India, then returned to Yorkshire in the late 1940s before joining Gaunts in 1954. He studied textile technology at the University of Leeds and returned to Gaunts in 1957 to set up the company’s quality control department.
He was eventually appointed group managing director and group chairman. He retired in 2012 after close on 60 years of service and died in 2014.
Attendees included the Bostock Family, the Gaunts Team, board directors and shareholders, representatives from OGL Construction who have built the development, as well as Architects Bowman Riley, and Shelby Group (Project Management) and other companies involved in the project, alongside local councillors, business owners and tenants from the mill.
