A group of volunteers who maintain the war graves in Bramley Baptist Church graveyard are set to receive a special visitor – the Lord Mayor of Leeds.
Councillor Jane Dowson will pay a civic visit the next war graves clean-up session on the 9th May, from 12 noon to 1.30pm.
Volunteer Ian Johnstone told The Dispatch volunteers give up their time every fortnight to maintain the graves, cut grass and clean up litter. He said new volunteers are also welcome on the day and added:
“We might get a few more volunteers seeing as we’re into our fourth year tending the war graves and also litter picking the church and grave yards.
