Kirkstall project hosts virtual AGM with a difference

One of Leeds’s most ambitious community driven projects is holding an annual general meeting with a difference this year.

Due to social distancing concerns, the Kirkstall Valley Development Trust (KVDT) will meet up online from 5.30pm on Thursday 24 September.

Guest speaker will be Adam Ogilvie, the chief executive at Meanwood Valley Urban Farm.

The past 12 months has seen KVDT officially open its Unit 11 community hub at Kirkstall Bridge Retail Park, and the launch of the community led Kirkstall Valley Farm off the back of a £45,000 crowdfunder.

KVDT has also experienced difficulties in making its aim of refurbishing Abbey Mills into a community hub and 50 social flats financially viable.

Kirkstall Valley Development Trust is a community benefit society set up in 2016 to develop a learning and leisure park over 200 acres of inner Leeds and to refurbish Abbey Mills for housing and community use.
