Darts players in Horsforth are invited to join in a darts marathon at The Bridge Inn this weekend to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Starting at 2pm this Saturday, 21 June at the pub on Low Lane players are invited to join this community darts challenge with the aim of reaching 100,000 points. There will also be mini games with hourly prizes to be won and a special mystery guest.
Rachel Stoker is the manager at The Bridge Inn, and she is excited to be hosting the event. Rachel said: “We’re really looking forward to it. Such a great idea and raising money for a great cause. Can’t wait.”
The event is part of a Macmillan initiative to raise funds for men living with cancer.
The Macmillan website provides information for cancer sufferers and their friends and family.
“Men make up more than half of new cancer cases but many of them do not seek support. The Darts Marathon aims to get men talking about cancer one throw at a time.”

Participants can play for 12 hours or aim for the 100,000 points target. All abilities are welcome and you can just drop in and join in from 2pm.
Andy’s Man Club will also be supporting the event. Usually meeting on Monday evenings the darts marathon provides a welcome additional activity for the group.
Andy Bampton from AMC said: “Extra activities build a social bond away from the Monday night groups and can allow guys to feel part of a community.”
Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest national cancer charities providing health care, information and support to people affected by cancer.
Andy’s Man Club are a mens suicide prevention charity running free support groups nationwide every Monday night from 7pm. The Horsforth group meets at Leeds Trinity University on Brownberrie Lane and is open to men of all ages to open up or simply listen in a safe environment.
