The next stage of development around Bramley War Memorial will be discussed at a special meeting tomorrow (Wednesday, October 28).
The Friends of Bramley War Memorial group is holding its annual general meeting at Bramley Community Centre at 7.15pm. On its agenda are plans to incorporate a new peace garden into the surroundings of the memorial.
The new Bramley War Memorial was unveiled last year at a cost of £100,000 – all raised through community effort, support from local businesses and contributions from local councillors’ community cash pots.
Volunteer John Barker told The Dispatch:
“We are looking to consult on the next stage of the Memorial and its surroundings – including a Peace Garden. These include incorporating around 150 Stanningley and Rodley names.”
All welcome to attend the meeting, which is open to the public. Free copies of the first pilot issue of the West Leeds Dispatch print edition will also be available on the night.
