Farsley Celtic 3 Prescot Cables 0
Farsley Celtic made it eight consecutive wins with a clinal performance as they dispatched 10-man Prescot Cables 3-0, writes Thomas Ritchie.
Farsley had the first opportunity early on as Paul Walker crossed for Chris Howarth who headed just wide. The Celts continued to have the better of the play as Aiden Savory’s cross was parried away by Michael Burgess before early substitute Robbie O’Brien latched onto the rebound and fired over.
Midway through the first half Howarth had another chance however his effort from the edge of the box was pushed away excellently by Burgess.
On the brink of halftime Ross Daly almost gave Celtic the lead as he turned in the box before lashing just wide from a tight angle.
Midway through the second half the game turned as Farsley’s latest addition Jordan Deacey made an instant impact as he was brought down in the box, and due to the fact he was last man Prescot ‘keeper Burgess recieved his marching orders.
With no replacement ‘keeper, forward James Edgar was forced to act as goalkeeper for Prescot Cables. Aaron Hardy duly converted the penalty handing Farsley a 1-0 lead.
Just moments later Edgar recieved his first test, however he was well up to it as he denied Aiden Savory a chance to double Farsley’s lead.
Despite that Savory did get his goal as he was played through on goal by Adam Clayton before slotting home. Shortly after Farsley wrapped up all three points as Jordan Deacey found himself through on goal before tucking the ball into the bottom corner, past the dispairing Edgar.
