Farsley Celtic is set to have new owners after the club announced that the Stockdale family has agreed to buy it for an undisclosed sum.
The family includes the club’s current manager and former Fulham and Brighton goalkeeper David Stockdale and his wife Katie. If the sale goes through it will bring an end to Paul Barthorpe’s ownership after six years at the club.
A statement issued by the club this morning said:”The club can confirm that the Stockdale family has agreed with the major shareholders to acquire 100% of FC 2010 (Holdings) Ltd.
“The formal completion of the purchase is subject to final legal technicalities.
“The club will provide further updates in due course.”
The Celts endured a turbulent season which included a fan boycott after the club began playing home games over 70 miles away in Buxton due to a failed attempt to install a new artificial pitch at The Citadel. Last month saw Farsley’s menās team relegated three divisions.
Mr Barthorpe bought the club from the Palmer family in 2019.
