UPDATED 6pm: Farsley Celtic have confirmed confirm that tomorrow’s scheduled National League North fixture against Leamington has been postponed due to a frozen pitch at the Citadel.

A qualified referee inspected the pitch this afternoon, deeming the playing surface unplayable following the recent cold snap. A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.

ORIGINAL POST: Farsley Celtic will be hoping their pitch beats the icy conditions when they play host to mid-table Leamington at The Citadel tomorrow (Saturday, 10 December).

The Celts will be hoping to make it back-to-back victories for the first time this season as they entertain the side which beat them 4-0 on a scorching hot opening day of the season in early August.

A win could see them leave the relegation trapdoor of the bottom four.

Celts boss Russ Wilcox will be hoping skipper Chris Atkinson will be fit after missing midweek’s fine 2-0 victory over high fliers Kings Lynn Town. There’s still no news on central defender Adam Clayton’s return from injury and Bradford City loanee Kian Scales serves the last of his three-match ban following his sending off against Chester last month.

The visitors are without a league win since October but give little away at the back and their 11 draws this season comfortably make them the draw specialists of the division.
