Bramley: Volunteers move grass mountain

Volunteers in Bramley took advantage of the glorious spring weather to help fill and move a mountain of grass and debris into more than 400 bags.

The special clean-up saw 30 volunteers join the regular helpers who maintain the war graves in Bramley Baptist Church yard in a bid to move the grass which had collected over a long period.

The day also saw volunteers carry out some mowing and strimming around the war graves.

One of the volunteers, Ian Johnstone, thanked everyone who attended on the day.

Leeds City Council has agreed to remove the bags in the next few days.

The regular group of volunteers meet regularly to tidy the war graves. Updates on the Memories of Bramley Facebook group.
