Bramley parkrun now cancelled until March

Bramley parkrun has been hit by another delay due to asbestos removal and refurbishment in the changing rooms.

Both the Bramley 5k and Bramley Junior parkrun events have been cancelled since 2nd January 2019, with work originally expected to last four weeks. The popular event, which regularly attracts 200 runners in Bramley Park each Saturday morning, was then cancelled for a further week.

But today parkrun volunteers revealed the runs now won’t return until March. No exact date has been given.

Bramley parkrun’s Jean Hollings said on Facebook:

“Work is still under way to improve the toilets, showers and drainage in and around the pavilion.

“We know how disappointing it is and thank you for your ongoing patience.”

Nearest 5k parkrun events are at: Armley, Brighouse, Cross Flatts, Dewsbury, Harrogate, Huddersfield, Middleton Woods, Temple Newsam, Rothwell, Roundhay, Oakwell Hall, Potternewton, Storthes Hall, Woodhouse Moor, Wakefield, Thornes Park, Wetherby, Bradford, Horton Park and Mrytle Park.

Nearest 2k events are Temple Newsam, Roundhay, Cross Flatts and Boddington Hall.
