Bramley is preparing for a year of celebration as two much-loved community traditions – Bramley Carnival and the Christmas Lights Switch-OnĀ – make their return.
Organisers are now calling on local businesses, community groups and supporters to help bring both events to life through sponsorship and prize donations.
After several years without a carnival, volunteers are working hard to revive the event and restore it to its place at the heart of Bramleyās community calendar.
Bramley Carnival is set to take place Saturday, 1 August on Bramley Park.Ā
The Christmas Lights Switch-On is being held on Friday, 27 November at Bramley Shopping Centre. It attracts hundreds of families each year, is also set for a bigger, brighter return.
To make both events possible, organisers are seeking sponsors at all levels, from small local businesses to larger organisations. Sponsorship will help fund entertainment, staging, childrenās activities, safety provisions and the many behind-the-scenes costs that go into delivering large community events.
āWe want these events to be something Bramley can be proud ofĀ colourful, inclusive and full of community spirit,ā a spokesperson said. āBut we can only achieve that with the support of local partners who believe in what these celebrations bring to our area.ā
In addition to sponsorship, the team is also appealing for donated tombola and raffle prizes, which play a vital role in fundraising for both events. Everything from gift sets and vouchers to hampers, toys and experiences is gratefully welcomed.
Prize donations can be dropped off at Full Circle Funeral Directors on Broad Lane, who have kindly offered to act as a collection point for the community.
Organisers say every contribution – large or small – helps ensure that Bramleyās biggest celebrations remain free, accessible and enjoyable for all.
Businesses or individuals interested in sponsoring the events or donating prizes are encouraged to get in touch with the organising team to request further details.Ā Contact Helen GarrandĀ on 07496 619360 or email helen.bramleycommunityevents@gmail.com.
With the support of local people and partners, organisers hope Bramley Carnival and the Christmas Lights Switch-On are set to shine brighter than ever.
