The Big Lunch is the UK’s annual get-together for neighbours and the perfect recipe for having fun, feeding community spirit and helping to build stronger neighbourhoods.
People are the key ingredient, with those taking part creating friendlier communities in which they start to share more, from conversation and ideas to skills and resources. The Big Lunch is calling on communities to take part this year and host their own Big Lunch events on Sunday, June 12 this year.
In Kirkstall, The Big Lunch will be held in St Stephen’s Community Garden and along parts of Station Parade – and organisers will be using the event to mark the Queen’s recent 90th birthday.
Organisers are looking for facepainters, musicians, entettainers, organisers and helpers on the day. More details on the Kirkstall Big Lunch Facebook group.
Delighted to see that there's @thebiglunch in #Kirkstall this year – can YOU help? 🌯🍰🍉 pic.twitter.com/2yc0i6NH7w
